The ominous Taj Mahal, just after a heavy rainfall, becomes a pool of reflections. Timeless beauty that never ends.
It was initially a feeling of dismay – the thought of walking through puddles of murky red rain water, getting our feet wet and having our anticipated photos spoilt by the mass of brollies forced into our photo backdrop.

And then heaven opened and smiled down on us.
Taking the advice of our guide, we took a lunch break. The heavens smiled, the rain stopped and the lovely sun rays pierced through the clouds, which changed quickly from grey to white.
Reflection turned into inspiration, as we learned the details of its history and legendary architecture.
Obelisk forms in its wall structures, chevron features etched into its marble pillars, inlayed grill work designs and patterned floor tiles.

It’s a humbling experience to stand before such grandeur.
It puts into good perspective our time in the spectrum of history – the past, present and future and cannot but inspire us to ambitions of greater challenge in our lives.
